Sewing up Camilla by Petite Stitchery & Co

I had the opportunity to sew up Petite Stitchery & Co. Camilla Dress. A staple piece for spring and summer. Camilla Dress is 1 of 5 of the Spring 17 Collection. The full bundle which can be found here, includes: Girls Camilla, Poppy, Lily, Periwinkle and Baby Poppy. Or if you just wanted the girls patterns you can find that, hereHenderson 8 - 2t Camilla

Let’s talk Camilla, some of its features are:

-Single or double collar
-Retro style Round or Squared collar
-Sleeves or Sleeveless
-Thin Button Placket
-Gathered Skirt

I am a huge stickler for the fluidity and easiness of a pattern. Almost 3 years ago, I literally was going to give up sewing before I even started. Reason being is I felt paper patterns were like an ancient language and I could not speak it. lol So with that said PS&Co PDF patterns are very easy to understand. Whether you are true novice or an experienced seamstress the instructions will walk you through every step of the way.

All PS&co patterns feature:

-Layer printing, making it easy to only print the size you need
-Easy to follow visual and written instructions
-Imperial and Metric guide
-Quick Instruction Guide

I have been hoarding this clearance fabric from Joann’s for almost a 1.5 years now! I finally decided that it needed to be a Camilla. I opted for a summer feel and did sleeveless with the retro rounded single collar. henderson 1 - 2t camilla

I was also a little lazy (sorry no shame!) and did snaps instead of buttons. Making it quicker and easier! In total I think it took me from cut to finish 1.5-2 hours between dealing with my minions and taking breaks. IMG_9476

Of course my minion had to wear her bowler hat we found last season at Target! In all honestly I think it completes the outfit. lol If you haven’t yet had a chance to check out Petite Stitchery & Co. make sure you do!

Camilla’s is such a versatile dress that it can be urban chic to Sunday’s best.
