I did 2 versions. My first version I did the top. I love the fit and feel of this top. Depending on what type of fabric you use this top is dreamy! I picked up the yellow ombre from Joann Fabrics. I’ve been hoarding it for quite sometime and as soon I saw this design, it was screaming to be used.

The top should hit right at the hips. The high neckline makes it very favorable for any occasion. Dress it up or down.

The second option I did was the tunic. My daughter is extremely short for her age so the size 2-3 tunic hit right at her knees. I also used 4 layers of fabric to achieve the uneven hemline. If using jersey knit I would suggest using either a woven neckline or heavy interfacing. I has some drooping as the interfacing I used wasn’t strong enough.

I was aiming for a lyrically/ballet princess look. Very willowy and I think I achieved it. This by far has to be one of my favorite outfits.IMG_2345

All in all the assembly, cutting and sewing were pretty quick. My first one took me approximately 1.5 hours & my second less time.  I think once you get the hang of the pattern it comes pretty easily.

Rebecca has very helpful hints for both serger and sewing machines users which I found very helpful. So if you don’t have a sewing machine, Rebecca offers other finishing techniques to give you a professional garment finish.

If you are on the fence with this design, I still would suggest purchasing! Emma’s is definitely a must have as it can be tailored to fit your every need. Click on the links above to grab your copy!
