Gnome all the things: Hank & Clementine Fabric Tour

This is my first tour and I’m so excited to share with you my latest sewing creations. The color scheme and designs are perfection. In this freezing weather it screams all things Spring. Micheal Millers – Hank & Clementine Fabrics have definitely inspired me to think Spring.

I wanted to sew something up that can grow with my little minion. Its winter her in Michigan and I decided to mix it up and go with Trillium Maxi from Phat Quarter Fabrics & Designs and Wild Things Cape from Twig + Tale.

Make sure to read until the end for some special giveaways… you don’t want to miss out!

So for my first piece I decided I needed something that could be used for all seasons. I went with Twig + Tale’s Wild Things Cape. The pattern features;

Wild Things Cape:
Size 3-6 months – Teen
14 ear styles
12 tail styles
3 cape lengths
Optional pockets
Easy to follow visual and written instruction
Layered printing (print only the size you need and save on paper)
Print taping guide
Seam allowance
Imperial and Metric
Quick reference instruction
Stumped on what to make?! Well she offers a blank canvas cape page that allows you to create your very own Wild Things Cape.

I used Hank (DC7831-CORA-D). I felt that this was a classic design that just needed to be a stand alone. The fabric itself is absolutely beautiful and the colors really tie in well.IMG_9060 1

I chose to go with the classic length and omitted the ears. In hindsight, I probably should’ve used the Traveller Cape, to keep the pointy hat theme going… but oh well! Lol

The Wild Things Cape was a very well put together design. Flows smoothly from start to finish and gives a very polished professionally finished garment.

My second garment I wanted to try a new technique. I’ve never done herringbone! I was really excited to piece together this dress for my LO. I used the following fabrics to get this look

Micheal Miller: Hank & Clementine
Clementine: DC7832-CORA-D
Ivy: DC7839-CORA-D

So this combo paired perfectly with Phat Quarters, Trillium. Trillium is currently being revamped so please make sure to stay tuned to grab your copy. Trillium It is such a classic design and has so much to offer!

2t – 12
2 bodice options: Tri-Front or Simple
3 sleeve lengths: sleeveless, cap or ¾ sleeve
Optional ¾ sleeve with ruching
Tunic or Maxi length
Easy to follow visual and written instruction
Layered printing (print only the size you need, save on paper)
Imperial and Metric cut chart
Quick reference sewing instructions

At first I didn’t know how well these were going to pair together… well in reality, I’m not good at pairing and just kind of took a swing at it. I think I did well. My favorite color is mustard yellow so I knew I wanted that to be the most to stand out. Please let me know how I did with the pairing!?

The combo together, in my opinion, is absolutely stunning! The colors and the contrast make this a perfect spring outfit (now if spring would hurry and get here… that’d be great! Lol.)
