Its Gonna Be May: Petite Stitchery & Co.

So what better way to bring in May than with new workout gear! I wanted something hip and trendy but also functional for my  gym needs. Welp, PSco had me covered and was able to hack to get a complete new look!

Make sure to read until the end as there is a big surprise from Southern Belle Fabrics! Also make sure to check out what other bloggers used to get their “May Look.”

I used 2 types of performance knit that was purchased from Simply by Ti Fabrics and Joann Fabrics.

I love leggings, I practically live in them and would wear them to work if I could. So adding something a little extra to give the “legging” look a more trendy look is a +. I used Fusion Leggings and I must say the fit and feel is amazing. The added “V” detailing in the back gives my little flatcake self a little boost too! lol

Fusion Leggings Features:

Sizes XS- 3X
-2 options: color blocking or solid
-Curved V-shape back waistband that offers a feminine design
-Step by step sewing instructions with visual and written instructions
– Layered printing (print only in the size you need, to save on paper.)
Imperial and Metric cut chart

Fabric suggestions: Four-way stretch knit with at least 50% recovery is recommended. These include cotton spandex/lycra, athletic knit, yoga knit (thick poly spandex, and some ponte fabrics.

I used Simply by Ti Fabrics, Black Under Armour Wickway Jersey, link here. This fabric was definitely perfect for leggings. Breathable yet still had structure.

I love the complete look and how well this keeps things in place. I did add inches to the waistband as I prefer a wider waistband. Overall this was a fast sew. Was able to finish project in 30 mins. I love when sewing items are quick, allowing you to make more than 1 in a time crunch.

My second item I made was the Swanky Tank. You can find the free code by joining the Petite Stitchery & Co Fan Group and clicking under pinned post. If you’d prefer not to do that, you can purchase your copy here.

Swanky Tank Features:

-XS- 3X
-2 front cut options: modest of deep.
-Step by step sewing instructions with visual and written instructions
– Layered printing (print only in the size you need, to save on paper.)
Imperial and Metric cut chart

I trimmed the width of the bodice and measured where I wanted to crop top to hit. I added a band 85% of the bodice width and that is it! The reason I chose the Swank Tank is because of the sporty look of the neckline. Love the razorback look. I used the deep cut line.

This is fully lined as I did not feel like adding bands. I used a powermesh lining that helped give it that extra support, (I do have a bra on for photos, for that extra extra support.)

Hope you enjoyed my walk through as much as I enjoyed sewing them. If you want to stay up to date with PSco or Simply by Ti, click on the links below:
